KRR Internship 2021

Kurdish Refugee Relief Foundation is the only 501(c)3 non-profit organization that was founded to address the menstrual health gap in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq’s refugee camps. We work with the largest organization in the Kurdistan region, the Barzani Foundation, and have built a passionate team in the U.S. and in Erbil, Iraq to execute our projects.

To date KRR has provided three month supplies of menstrual products, pain killers, wipes, and sustainable tote bags to 1,400 women and girls. Our next goal is to provide period underwear to each woman and girl in the Bardarash camp that will last them up to 5 years.

Our team consists of former refugees and other women who have personally witnessed the devastation that war inflicts on refugees in various camps. Our aim is to ensure that no right is forgotten or neglected and that the voice of these women are heard throughout.

The intern will assist in the development of seeking grants, foundational development, partnership outreach, and social media management.

This internship will be a great opportunity for students to participate in meaningful work and impact thousands of women’s lives. They will also gain many applicable skills including nonprofit management, institutional development, fundraising, public relations, social media management, website development, and more. This opportunity also provides great flexibility to our interns similar to other startup nonprofits where you would get the chance to influence the decision making and closely work with our entire team including the leadership. You are also invited to propose new ideas and initiate your own project that could be your key, tangible takeaway from this opportunity.
