Due to the considerable lack of accessibility to menstrual hygiene products, KRR set out on a mission to ameliorate this crisis. We believe access to menstrual hygiene products is a human right. During the first chapter of our efforts, we distributed a three-month supply of pads, wipes, and pain killers to over 1,400 women in the Bardarash Camp outside of Erbil, Kurdistan. This project aimed to reduce the menstrual equity gap that exists in vulnerable refugee populations, and we intend to continue addressing this critical health issue on a sustainable level in the next chapter of our initiative.
