Fifth Distribution: Reusable Products
KRR’s fifth and most recent distribution was conducted on May 7, 2023 at the Gawilan Refugee Camp located in Duhok. Our team distributed 1,200 pairs of reusable underwear to 400 women at the camp in partnership with Saalt Co. Our team on the ground also conducted one on counseling with women answering questions and providing information on menstrual hygiene and health.

Over 62% of the world lives in period poverty, which is the lack of access to proper menstrual health products. Saalt Co. aims to increase access to sustainable menstrual health products for women and girls. Saalt produces menstrual cups, disks, and period underwear in a clean, ethical, and environmentally sustainable manner. Thanks to a generous donation from Saalt, KRR was able to address period poverty affecting women and girls at Galiwan Camp.
