Kurdish Refugee Relief Foundation

Access to menstrual health is a human right.

Our mission.

The Kurdish Refugee Relief Foundation is committed to sustainably addressing the menstrual health gap among refugee populations.

Our work emphasizes the importance of the sustainability of our solutions, the definition of which encompasses both environmental as well as long-term sustainability. We believe that is vital to empowering refugee women because it ensures that they have reusable products at their disposal that last for years without relying on recurrent distributions. These sustainable products support the needs of refugee women for longer stretches of time, which helps bridge the accessibility gap that occurs between distributions and remove obstacles to educational and professional opportunities for these women. Additionally, these reusable products allow women to take care of their menstrual health needs in a more dignified and sanitary manner while simultaneously decreasing the environmental waste that traditional period products produce. We are also in the process of expanding to a self-sustaining social enterprise model and growing our educational sessions, counseling, and materials.
